Association of Assistive Technology Act Programs (ATAP)

A final rule that allows more Medicaid beneficiaries to be in charge of their own personal assistance services, including personal care services, was announced on September 29, 2008 by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

This new rule has provisions for qualified family members to perform personal assistance services.
